Indie Games Malaga receives 144 games in 2022

Indie Games Málaga, organized by the National Pole of Digital Content of Málaga, has received a total of 144 games in its 2022 edition, a figure that consolidates the upward trend of previous years.

In addition, the increase in applications from other countries that have registered stands out in this edition, accounting for 13% of the total, and which includes countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Honduras, Mexico, Colombia, Turkey and Uruguay, among others.

Regarding the national presence, Andalusia leads the ranking of regions by number of video games presented, followed by Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country, the Valencian Community, Galicia, Murcia, the Canary Islands and Aragon. On the other hand, La Rioja and Cantabria are the territories with the fewest candidates.

Of the four existing categories in the contest, PC / Consoles has been the most majority, accounting for a total of 103 video games, followed by the mobile category, with 24; accessibility, with 10; and XR Tech, which includes proposals that use virtual reality to play, with 7.

Once the registration period has closed and after the so-called Polo Academy has been filtered for the first time, the next Indie Games Málaga will take place on October 7, the date on which the five finalists for each category will be announced among which will be the winner.

From that moment and for two weeks, the jury of the contest, which has leading figures in the sector at a national and international level, will be in charge of carrying out the necessary tests to issue their scores and extract the winners of each category from there. plus the second prize for best video game among the four.
