THE CITY COUNCIL OF MÁLAGA AND THE EOI WILL PROMOTE 120 DIGITAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROJECTS AND 30 TRAINING ACTIONS UNTIL 2025

The mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, and the general director of the School of Industrial Organization, José Bayón, have presented this morning two new collaboration agreements to promote training and entrepreneurship in digital projects, advanced technologiesas well as initiatives in the sector medium and entertainment through the National Digital Content Pole.

These are free actions for citizens that involve a total investment of 1.740.000 euros co-financed by the European Social Fund+, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism and the Malaga City Council, with the aim of energizing 120 entrepreneurial projects, as well as such as 30 training actions aimed at 510 beneficiaries until 2025.

The presentation was also attended by the delegate councilor for Innovation, Digitalization and Investment Capture, Alicia Izquierdo, and the director of Innovation, Entrepreneurs and SMEs of the EOI, Miguel Sánchez Galindo.

Thus, the first agreement, called "Training for Employment", will focus on reducing youth unemployment by launching 30 training actions in 2024 and 2025. These activities will focus on digital skills and emerging professions, aimed at young people under 30 years old registered in the National Youth Guarantee System. The opening date to register for the different courses will be published on the website throughout these two years.

With a budget of 1.020.000 euros, this program is part of the areas of specialization of the National Digital Content Pole, such as the sector medium and entertainment (design and development of video games, immersive environments, 2D and 3D design, audiovisual production or generation of digital content), and Deep tech or advanced technologies (artificial intelligence, XR, Web 3.0. blockchain or cybersecurity).

In this same line of action, the second agreement, "Itineraries to Promote Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Support Services", seeks to promote digital projects through comprehensive training and support in coworking spaces. With a practical approach, this agreement includes six editions of the program, each one designed to support 20 entrepreneurial initiatives in their initial phases. The action has a budget of 720.000 euros and aims to transform innovative ideas into successful companies.

These new agreements reinforce the vision of the National Digital Content Pole of Malaga as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, contributing significantly to the positioning of Malaga as a leader in the digital and technological sector at a national and international level.

MORE THAN 300 ENTREPRENEURIAL PROJECTS

The collaboration between Malaga City Council and the EOI, through the National Digital Content Pole, has proven to be a catalyst for the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Since 2016, three agreements for coworking spaces have been executed, resulting in 13 editions of coworking programs and the promotion of 310 entrepreneurial projects, with a total investment of 2.300.000 euros.

In addition, 58 training actions have been developed that have benefited 991 participants, with an investment of 2.602.000 euros, focused on reducing youth unemployment and training in digital skills for the long-term unemployed.
